Where am I able to use SL?

Currently, Support Local is available in the zip code of 38401 or Maury County, Tennessee.

Where does my 5% donation go?

If you’re a user, 5% of your receipt donation goes to the charities you chose. We as a business take a portion of that for operating expenses but the rest is a donation!

What if my organization is not on SL?

We’d love to talk to you! Contact us on our contact page of the website.

Do I include tax in my submitted receipt?

No. We ask to consider the subtotal of receipts.

What is a SnapShop?

This is our word for the action of taking pictures of receipts that are uploaded to Support Local.

Can I give money directly to my favorite charity?

You sure can. Each organization on Support Local has a “Donate Now” Button you can use at any time to send them money.

How many charities can I support?

Users can follow up to 4 charities at a time. You can unassociated with one and join new ones whenever you choose.

What kind of businesses are on SL?

Currently, we work with locally owned retail stores, restaurants and frequented service businesses (i.e. salons, barber shops, spas, etc.)

Are there any restrictions on what a business donates?

Some businesses may reject a receipt based on agreements they have with vendors that do not allow discounting of products or for other reasons. It’s solely up to the business to approve or reject SnapShops.

What if I didn't receive a paper receipt?

You can submit a screenshot or jpeg of your emailed or digital receipt if you have one of those. Anything that lists the date, product, business and subtotal works.

Are we able to snapshop an online purchase?

Yes, you can submit a screenshot of your invoice from the vendor.

How are you using my location data on my phone?

Your location is used to determine what city you’re in so we can serve you the appropriate businesses and organizations. We also use your location to send you geo-fenced notifications (deals, news, etc) that businesses you follow may want to send to you.

I have an old receipt. Can I still submit it?

We ask that you only submit receipts within 15 days of receiving them.

What if my receipt is hard to read?

We can only accept receipts that you can read the date, items purchased, subtotal and business from where you got it.

My receipt got denied by the business. What do I do?

Business can reject receipts for any reason. At this time, we don’t have a way to show you why a business may have rejected the receipt. In the future we hope to add this. If this happens, try again with a new receipt next time you shop with them.
